Police responded to shots fired on Joe Mixon

Police reportedly responded to a call reporting possible shots fired at the home of Cincinnati Bengals’ running back Joe Mixon on Monday night. The police searched the home and put up crime scene tape, and a juvenile was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. However, it is not clear if Mr Mixon was involved in the incident, and the police left without making any arrests.

According to local media, deputies arrived at the scene around 8:30 pm EST and applied crime scene tape around Mr Mixon’s home at approximately 11:00 pm EST. There was at least one evidence marker in the player’s yard, indicating potential evidence for a crime, and multiple markers believed to be bullet casings.

The deputies were seen “banging on Mixon’s door, loudly,” identifying themselves and instructing him to come out. An officer arrived at the home at around 1:30 am EST on Tuesday with an envelope of documents, just minutes before several deputies entered the home with flashlights. Three additional officers arrived at around 2:00 am EST with “note-taking supplies.”

This incident occurred about a month after an arrest warrant was issued for Mr Mixon on charges of aggravated menacing, which were later dropped. Mr Mixon has one year left on his contract with the Bengals, and in the 2021 season, he had a great year, scoring 13 touchdowns and being selected for the Pro Bowl. The extent of the juvenile’s injuries is unknown.
